The free Canada personal credit reports are available for Canadians as opposed to the American credit bureaus that usually charge a fee for the reports. The Canada personal credit reports contain all your personal and financial history.

You can request a copy of your Canada personal credit reports by going to one of the two credit reporting agencies. For Equifax go to www.equifax.com/EFX_Canada/. For Trans Union go to www.tuc.ca/, print out the application and send it in. With Equifax you can fax in your request with a photocopy of two pieces of identification. They will send you a credit report within four to ten days. With Trans Union you must mail in your application with copies of your identification. They will take up to eight weeks to send your report.

The Canada personal credit reports will have your name, date of birth, social insurance number, address, place of employment and other personal information in it. It will also contain all your credit history including loans, mortgages and credit lines. If you miss payments on a scheduled payment structure it will show on your credit report. If you have been later than thirty days to pay your loans it will be recorded and willlower your credit rating even more.
