Company credit reports contain information similar to a personal credit report. They contain the financial status and credit history of the company over a period of years. When you read these reports you're able to analyze the financial stability of the company which is very useful for any number of reasons.

A company credit report, for instance, can guide you when making a major purchasing decision if you want the peace of mind knowing they will be around later if anything were to go wrong. Another example might be assisting a decision whether of not to take an employment offer if the company is relatively unknown to you. Conversely, the information may be very useful for something more innocent such as personalizing a covering letter on your resume when making a cold approach seeking employment!

A company credit report isn't free, however it is certainly worth the expense at times when the consequences of a poor decision could be fare more costly to you!
